Jun 30 News: Vancity Opens New Branch

Vancouver, June 30, 2003 - Vancity's Lynn Creek Community Branch, our 40th and newest location, is now officially open at 1370 Main St. in North Vancouver and is generating rave reviews. The branch has been designed to reflect the community with a distinct wilderness design including a rock wall, trees, an abundance of natural light, a recycled lumber floor and an original 23-foot totem pole by North Shore artist David Neel. The building has also been constructed to an unprecedented environmental standard, making it one of the most environmentally conscious retail buildings in the region. Vancity and the community celebrated this opening recently with a ribbon cutting and the unveiling and blessing of the totem pole by the artist.
