Vancity Angels make Christmas special for needy Surrey kids
Surrey, November 6, 2003 - Vancity is hoping to make this holiday season special for hundreds of needy children in the Surrey area with Angel Tree programs running in its local branches.
The Angel Tree is a Christmas tree decorated with paper angels made by local elementary school children and Vancity staff. Each one bears the name, age and wish of a Surrey child who might not otherwise share in the joy of the holiday season.Look for Angel Trees at:
Cedar Hills Community Branch
The tree will go up on Saturday, November 8 and the program
will end on Saturday, December 13. The paper angels will be
made by students at Senator Reid Elementary School and the gifts will go to
the Surrey Women's Centre Society.
South Surrey/White Rock Community Branch
The program will run from Wednesday, November 12 until Friday,
December 12. The gifts will go to Atira Women's Resource Society.
Guildford Community Branch
The program will run from Thursday, November 13 until Saturday,
December 13. The gifts will go to SOS Children's Village in Surrey.
Surrey City Centre Community Branch
The program will run from Wednesday, November 19 until Wednesday,
December 17. The angels will be made by and go to students at Hjorth
Road Elementary School.
North Delta Community Branch
The program will run from Wednesday, November 19 until Wednesday,
December 17. The gifts will go to the Delta Youth Centre.
