Vancity earns spots on Maclean's and Corporate Knights corporate social responsibility lists

This accolade comes on the heels of ranking the highest of any financial institution and second overall on the Corporate Knights list of Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens.

For the forth consecutive year, we've earned a spot on Maclean's 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada based on our environmental, social and governance performance.

One of the reasons Maclean’s selected us was for our progressive approach to environmental initiatives and specifically for the development of our IA Clarington Inhance Global Equity SRI Fund—one of the first fossil fuel free mutual funds in Canada. By integrating environmental, social, and governance factors in to our investment decisions, we’re offering a more environmentally sustainable option to our members.

The Top 50 Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada were selected based on their performance across a broad range of environmental, social, and governance indicators tracked by Sustainalytics. The companies selected rank at the top of their respective industries and have demonstrated strong performance in areas such as environmental initiatives, impact on local communities, treatment of employees and supply chain management.
