Victoria’s Dockside Green wins the 2009 CHBA American Standard Grand SAM Award
Victoria, BC, March 8, 2010 - Dockside Green has received the top national honour at the 2009 CHBA (Canadian Home Builders Association) National SAM® Awards, winning the prestigious American Standard Grand SAM Award.
The decision to award Dockside Green with the Grand SAM Award was based on a variety of the project’s merits including the overall design and construction, use of local products and services, relative affordability of the project, integration of the project into its setting, architectural character, environmental considerations, and common area design and amenities. Marketing campaigns were also a consideration including website design, project signage, print ads, brochure/sales kit, direct mail promotion and sales office design.
“It’s good to receive national recognition through this important award for what we’re achieving at Dockside Green,” says Gordon Smith, Vancity project lead for Dockside Green. “An innovative approach to development is helping us to deliver not only top class homes and business spaces but also to build community.”
The annual National SAM Awards celebrate the best and most innovative projects in Canada. It’s the CHBA’s premier competition for new homes, home renovations, community development, marketing and sales. The coveted American Standard Grand SAM Award is presented to a new home builder and/or developer who is a finalist in a New Home Awards category and who attains the highest total score from all of the marketing awards categories combined.
The winners were announced at the Empress Hotel in Victoria during the 67th CHBA National Conference on March 6, 2010.
