With over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry, Liz is known for being a people-centred leader with deep knowledge in the areas of wealth management, corporate transformation, diversity, equity and inclusion, and organizational strategy and planning.
Prior to joining Vancity as the Interim Chief People Officer, Liz served as Chief People Officer at ATB Financial, where she oversaw the human resources functions for a team of 5,500 employees. In other roles, Liz has extensive experience leading profit and loss management across consumer, wealth, and business banking lines.
Among her educational accomplishments, Liz holds an MBA (Financial Services) from Dalhousie University, as well as the Certified Financial Planner and Institute of Corporate Directors designations. Committed to Reconciliation and ongoing learning, she has completed the Indigenous Canada program at the University of Alberta.
In her spare time, Liz is a yoga practitioner, scuba diver and an avid traveler who focuses her volunteer time training and raising young assistance dogs. Outside of work, Liz serves on both the YWCA and United Way of Calgary boards of directors.
