As Interim Chief Financial Officer, Kari oversees the health of Vancity’s $34 billion in assets and assets under administration.
With more than 30 years of experience as a qualified Certified Public Accountant, Kari has worked in a wide range of industries, including financial services, technology, energy trading, retail and consumer business. Following 25 years in public practice, she has held senior finance roles in industry as a finance vice-president, corporate controller and interim CFO, including serving as Interim CFO for Central 1.
As a partner at Deloitte, Kari was the technology industry leader for the BC partnership and was an active member on the partner leadership team for the BC practice as the Deloitte Private leader. At her time at Deloitte, she helped many high-growth organizations prepare for expansion and advised on a broad range of finance transformations, system implementations, process re‐engineering and complex transactions.
In the community, Kari has served on the board of directors for the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, the BC Tech Association, The Next Big Thing Foundation and Growing Chefs, a non-profit devoted to children’s urban agriculture. She is a devoted yogi and certified yoga instructor. On the weekends, she can often be found in a yoga studio or on the water sailing around the Lower Mainland and Gulf Islands with her partner, Dave. She has two boys, a dog named Wicca and a cat named Roxy.
