Kevin Mathias is the Interim Chief Risk Officer of Vancity and the Chief Risk Officer of Vancity’s federally chartered bank, Vancity Community Investment Bank (VCIB). With over three decades of experience in the financial sector, Kevin brings a wealth of expertise in strategy development and execution, governance, risk management, and commercial banking.
Kevin oversees credit, legal services, and enterprise risk management functions to support business growth. He’s also responsible for developing and implementing VCIB’s risk framework and risk appetite, as well as ensuring that all risks generated by the business are measured and monitored on an ongoing basis.
Prior to joining Vancity Group, Kevin held various leadership positions at the HSBC Group and Coast Capital Savings Credit Union where he worked with diverse teams in Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, London, and India.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor of Commerce, and is an Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers (AICB).
