Meet Wendy Murphy.

Chief Technology and Information Officer.

Wendy leads the Vancity Group’s information and technology division leading a large team responsible for executing a full suite of digital services and products, overseeing data, engineering and AI, as well as managing risk and cyber security.

Wendy plays a key role driving digitization and modernization across Vancity’s core technology and enhancing the digital banking services for Vancity’s 560,000 members.

Wendy previously held several leadership roles with large banks and insurance firms, most recently as chief operating officer and chief technology officer at Concentra. She has also held senior executive roles at TD Bank Group, ING Canada, IFDS Canada and the Royal Bank of Canada.

Wendy is proud of being part of a team that launched a new, fully digital banking platform for a Schedule I Canadian bank and for building a high-performing technology team as an executive leader with a start-up financial services company.

Wendy has held several voluntary and board roles in keeping with her dedication to promoting women in technology and leadership, and currently holds an executive advisor board position for a bio-tech start-up company. Her outside-of-work interests include extensive travel (once a super contributor to Trip Advisor), exploring other cultures, sailing, reading and her family – a partner, two kids and Max, the dog.
