Vancity among Western Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures

Waterstone Human Capital, a leading executive search firm, has selected Vancity as one of Western Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2011. This esteemed program recognizes best-in-class organizations across the country for having a culture that has helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

After receiving a record-setting number of nominations and submissions, Waterstone Human Capital announced the regional and category winners on October 12, 2011. The program's 26-member Board of Governors, consisting of top executives from many leading organizations from across Canada, first vote on the following criteria to select initial candidates:

• Vision and leadership
• Cultural alignment, measurement and sustainability
• Rewards, recognition and innovative business achievement
• Corporate performance
• Corporate social responsibility

After conducting in-person interviews over the summer, the Board of Governors then choose the regional winners. Other winners include the Laurentian Bank of Canada, Farm Credit Canada, Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, WestJet Airlines, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
