Vancity "campout" celebrates credit union’s move into Pitt Meadows
Pitt Meadows, August 12, 2005 - What do wieners, cole slaw and banking have in common?
They will all be available at Vancity’s “Campout” on Saturday, August 20 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm in the parking lot of Meadowtown Shopping Centre at 19800 Lougheed Highway.
It may be a trailer and a construction site for now, but early next year this area will be transformed into a 5,000 square foot branch with an unique interior design theme that will reflect the Pitt Meadows landscape, including the water systems, dykes, farmland and mountains.
In the meantime, Vancity is so eager to start serving residents that it has set up “camp” in a trailer on the future site of the location.
To celebrate Vancity’s move to Pitt Meadows, the staff will be firing up the BBQ and inviting locals to come on down for free food and drinks, music and the chance to win great camping prizes, including a a family camping trip, tents, sleeping bags and more.
Those who open new accounts will also be winners as they will get $25 simply for joining Vancity.
"We are thrilled to be doing business in Pitt Meadows. We think we have a lot to offer the area in terms of our products, services and financial advice, and our community focus. We plan to have a strong presence here," says Branch Manager Jayne Perrault, who lives only minutes from the new location.
