Vancity’s CEO named IABC/BC’s Communicator of the Year
Vancouver, BC - Vancity CEO Dave Mowat was recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators British Columbia (IABC/BC) chapter as Communicator of the Year for his outstanding contributions to business communication at the annual Blue Wave Awards ceremony on June 2, 2005.
“IABC/BC is proud to name Dave Mowat as our 2005 Communicator of the Year,” said IABC/BC President, Laurie Dawkins. “His innovative and engaged communication and leadership style truly tells the story of why Macleans Magazine recognized Vancity as the “best place to work in Canada” in its annual 2005 Top 100 Employers survey.”

- Use of communication strategies demonstrating creativity and innovation;
- Commitment to communication internally and externally;
- Effective personal communication with all audiences; and
- Ethics and professionalism in communication.
