Vancity selects Wasserman + Partners as new Agency of Record
New agency will help Vancity Redefine Wealth
Vancouver, BC, April 26, 2010: After a three-month review process, Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (Vancity) has selected Vancouver-based Wasserman + Partners Advertising as its new agency of record (AOR).
The selection committee felt that Wasserman showcased the creativity, innovation and business acumen needed to bring Vancity's new Value Proposition and vision of Redefining Wealth to prospective and current members in Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, greater Victoria and Squamish.
"We were thoroughly impressed with Wasserman's quick grasp of our brand and values, proven track record in the BC market, and DNA fit with Vancity," says Richard Seres, Vice-President of Vancity Marketing. "Ultimately the selection team agreed unanimously that Wasserman was the most appropriate organization to help us achieve our goals."
Vancity engaged external consultants Reynolds & Fyshe to partner with Vancity through the agency review process, which involved an invitation to a broad range of locally-based agencies. In the final presentations, the Wasserman team showcased their understanding of Vancity and its direction.
The new agreement marks the end to a six-year relationship with TBWA\Vancouver as AOR. Through the partnership, Vancity benefited from a highly successful marketing communications program which generated considerable visibility and awareness in the marketplace. Since 2004, TBWA\Vancouver has supported Vancity's growth from 302,032 members to 414,377 members and brand awareness has achieved record levels, including ad campaign awareness hitting over 60 per cent, doubling the established Financial Services category norms. As with any major Vancity supplier, the relationship with TBWA\Vancouver was up for a scheduled review.
Wasserman + Partners will begin initial work on Vancity projects within the next few weeks, and the transition to AOR will take place over the coming months.
