New Vancity business plan reinforces goal of building healthy communities
February 5, 2015, Vancouver, BC – Vancity will focus on building the real economy, improving members’ financial well-being and creating healthy communities according to the credit union’s , which was released today.
Vancity’s Three Year Plan sets out key areas with the greatest opportunity to achieve the scale its vision requires. This includes creating a values-based investment portfolio to diversify its balance sheet and implementing a future proofing strategy to prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow.
This year’s plan builds on the foundation set out in last year when, for the first time ever, Vancity publicly released its strategic plan. The transparency ensures its member-owners can see how the credit union puts their assets to work in ways that strengthen society, the environment and the economy.
The credit union takes a long-term view of what is happening in the economy by looking beyond the financial markets to the production of goods and services that impact people’s daily lives. This is the real economy and the context within which Vancity is building healthy communities while building its members’ financial well-being.
